How it Works

Our energy controllers reclaim, store and supply power to inductive motors and loads.
Considering all induction loads consume two kinds of power: Reactive power and working power of kilowatt. The working power performs the work of the motor. The only function of reactive power is to develop the electromagnetic fields (EMFs) to ground the induction windings of the motor. The KVAR EC™ stores the reactive power needed to create EMFs within the inductive loads.
As the motor operates, this reactive power is ‘pulled and pushed’ to and from the KVAR EC™ by the motor. Reactive motor is now reclaimed and recycled by the KVAR EC™ resulting in such power being supplied on the spot. Since reactive power is supplied locally, motors run cooler and more efficiently.
This results in dollar savings on your energy bill in terms of energy and electric demand being saved, and longer equipment life.

By installing a KVAR EC™ adjacent to your electrical panel you will be optimizing the way all motors operate in your home.

Heres what you need to know: A qualified electrician will come to your home to verify your homes Power Factor (PF) and do a quick inventory of the operating motors.
The electrician will do this by using one of our patented PF sizing apparatus or a power quality meter to determine the average PF of your home. If that PF can be improved upon by using one of our KVAR EC™ models, the electrician will install the correct unit. Then the last check to be conducted by the electrician is the verification of the new averaged PF.

Before our KVAR Distributors undertake the on-site survey required to determine the reactive component sizing of individual motors, they typically require one-line diagrams and motor time-of-use and infrastructure details.
The KVAR Survey is conducted by qualified electricians using our patent protected sizing apparatus. We conduct sizing of motors to determine reactive load requirements, so we may optimize individual motor loads or facilities loads for unity Power Factor (PF). Once youve reached unity (1.0 PF) youre optimized. Upon completion of the KVAR Survey, the sizing sheets are sent to our manufacturing facilities in Daytona Beach, Florida for processing and fabrication.

How KVAR® EC works
KVAR® has patented an apparatus and methodology for determining, to an
exact science, the amount of capacitance that is needed to optimize
inductive motors to unity for maximum savings.
KVAR® EC fine tunes the electrical system from the inductive equipment
back through the utility company's KVA electric meter, kilowatt hour
meter (kWh) or demand meter. This fine tuning slows down the operation
and therefore reduces electrical consumption.
The KVAR® EC stores the reactive power to create the electromagnetic field (EMF) around the inductive windings of a motor.
As motors operate, reactive power is "pulled" and "pushed" to and from the KVAR® EC by the motor at 60 cycles/second.
The KVAR® EC stores and releases what the motors need to function more effeciently.
This unique approach serves to reduce the heat generated on the lines
and therefore also reduces the strain placed on all the electrical
componenets.
Electricity, that would normally be pushed back through the power
distribution lines, is reclaimed and recycled by the KVAR® EC.
The KVAR® EC reclaims, stores, recycles and supplies power to all inductive loads.
Installation is quick and the savings immediate
KVAR® EC panel mounted system is attached to the top breaker on a 100, 200 or 400 amp single or three phase service panel. By installing KVAR® EC in this location, you are optimizing both sides of the busbar in your panel and insuring whole facility surge protection.
